Meet Anvi Agarwal, a Grade 11 student at RP Goenka International School in Kolkata, where she studies Higher Level Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics, alongside Psychology, Language and Literature, and Spanish Ab Initio. Her academic excellence is a combination of analytical brilliance from mathematics and computer science, complemented by her commitment to the social sciences.
Her proximity to the Sundarbans region, as a Kolkata resident, informed her of the conservation policies that left gaps for unintended human costs. Particularly for widows whose husbands lost their lives to tiger attacks. Utilizing her experience while working at Sobisco, she integrated her learnings from the lifecycle of consumer products to develop a multi-stage intervention for the women of Sundarbans. Working in the corporate sector also exposed her to the operations of the CSR department and introduced her to the workings of an NGO.Â
Now, through The Mangrove Circle, she leverages her understanding of corporate partnerships to amplify her efforts to create employment bridges between skilled women and corporate markets. During her free time, she enjoys practicing Odissi.
